The most spectacular event of 2021 for the orphans of San Mateo was probably the arrival of their school bus. For years they have prayed for it, saved, collected donations. The goal seemed unattainable until, thanks to some larger donations, the huge sum was finally raised.

The “new” bus, freshly painted with the L’ESPERANCE logo, arrived in San Mateo at the end of June to great jubilation. On the way to school and back, the bus is filled to capacity. On the way, children from the neighborhood are also picked up. As a thank you, the neighbors keep cutting back branches that protrude into the path so that the bus can easily reach the school via the winding jungle paths.
